De lobby van de defensie-industrie in Nederland bestaat uit: 1) legeronderdelen die bij die industrie wapens kopen, 2) de industrieën zelf en belangenorganisaties. Binnen die laatste categorie is de semi-overheidsorganisatie Nederlandse Industrie voor Defensie en Veiligheid (NIDV) veruit de belangrijkste. Voorzitter van de NIDV is sinds 1 oktober jl. Hans Hillen, voormalig Minister van Defensie. Het komende NIDV-symposium wordt geleid door voormalig PvdA-kamerlid Angelien Eijsink (zie 28), jarenlang het meest dossier vaste Kamerlid van de Vaste Commisie Defensie. Nu zet ze die ervaring aan in ten dienste van de industrie. Want lobby is nauwelijks nodig; 3) de politiek schuift zelf al aan als derde poot in de belangenbehartiging.
